Orkuvísir is Orka náttúrunnar’s first step towards giving customers the opportunity to influence their own electricity bills through responsible and informed energy use. The tariff is based on the hourly market price of electricity and is suitable for households that can shift their electricity consumption to lower priced hours, for example by charging an electric vehicle at night

Why is my electricity bill so high?

You are probably receiving a settlement bill for your electricity usage. This means that you have used more electricity than was originally estimated. A settlement bill may also be issued if you are moving. In that case, it is the final bill after closing your account with ON and settling the electricity meter.
With the introduction of smart meters, the amount can vary because electricity usage fluctuates. For example, consumption is often higher in winter than in summer
