Hellisheiði Power Plant celebrates its 20th anniversary!
Saturday, October 24, from 13:00 to 15:00
ON Power invites everyone to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hellisheiði Power Plant with us on Saturday, October 24. To mark the occasion, a diverse and fun-filled programme will be offered for the whole family, where guests can learn about the power plant's operations, explore its history, and enjoy festive anniversary moments.
Hellisheiði Power Plant was commissioned in 2006 and has since played a vital role in the country's energy production. The plant is Iceland's largest geothermal power plant, producing both hot water and electricity. Over these twenty years, operations have developed significantly, and Hellisheiði has become an important hub for innovation, research, and responsible geothermal energy utilization.
We want to celebrate this milestone and invite people to get to know the power plant and the diverse work carried out there. There will be plenty to do for both young and old!
