ON took part in Vísindavaka

Orka náttúrunnar (ON) took part in Vísindavaka, Rannís’ annual science festival, last weekend, giving visitors the opportunity to learn more about ON’s operations, energy and natural resources, as well as the wide range of projects we are working on.

This year, ON’s activities and projects were presented through the Geothermal Exhibition. Orkuveitan, ON’s parent company, and other companies within the group also took part in Vísindavaka, giving visitors an opportunity to learn about the diverse activities and projects taking place across the group.

Vísindavaka is organised annually by Rannís and brings together scientists, companies and institutions to make research, science and innovation accessible to the public in an engaging and interactive way. The event is part of European Researchers’ Night, which takes place across Europe on the last weekend of September.

It was particularly rewarding to see the interest visitors showed in ON’s activities and to have the opportunity to engage with people of all ages. Events such as Vísindavaka provide an important platform for sharing knowledge, answering questions and sparking curiosity about energy, natural resources and the solutions that can contribute to a more sustainable future.

We at ON would like to thank Rannís for organising another successful Vísindavaka, and everyone who stopped by to meet us and learn more about what we do.

We look forward to the next Vísindavaka!
