Kristín Guðmundsdóttir receives Iceland's first IPMA certification in project portfolio management

Kristín Guðmundsdóttir, head of the Project Management Office at ON Power, has achieved IPMA Level B – Portfolio Management certification. This marks a significant milestone, as it is the first IPMA certification in Portfolio Management to be awarded in Iceland.

IPMA certifications are internationally recognized professional credentials in the field of project management, awarded to individuals who demonstrate extensive knowledge, experience, and competence in accordance with strict international standards. The certification in Portfolio Management is designed for specialists and managers responsible for coordinating and steering portfolios of projects to ensure they support the strategy and goals of businesses and organizations.

Kristín has worked at ON Power for over a decade and has played a key role in the development of project management within the company. Today, she is responsible for ON's PMO and the company's project portfolio, which consists of numerous investment projects of significant strategic value to the operations.

Throughout her career, Kristín has led the development of processes and tools that support effective project execution and informed decision-making. Furthermore, she has actively worked to enhance employees' project management knowledge and skills through education, advisory services, and knowledge sharing. Through this work, she has contributed to increased collaboration, more efficient practices, and a stronger project culture within the company.

In addition to her role at ON Power, Kristín has been active in the Project Management Association of Iceland (VSF). She has delivered presentations on behalf of VSF, participated in interest groups, and played a major role in building a strong community of young project managers through her seat on the board of the Young Project Management Association.
