Wellness and educational walk around Nesjavellir

ON Power received a nice visit at the Nesjavellir power plant the other day when we had the opportunity to take part in Health Week in Grímsnes and Grafningur Municipality, where the plant is located.

The goal of Health Week was to offer residents a variety of events related to health, exercise and education. One of the events of Health Week was a health walk for the 60+ association in the municipality and we at ON thought it was ideal to invite the association to a walk around Nesjavellir and at the same time have the opportunity to inform the members about the plant's operations.

It was ON's environment and land restoration manager, Magnea Magnúsdóttir, who led the walk and shared her deep well of wisdom along the way. She talked among other things about environmental issues at ON and the production process of Nesjavellir power plant, where most of the hot water used by residents of the capital area is produced.

The group could not have been luckier with the weather, which was exceptionally calm and beautiful, and this was a really enjoyable way to strengthen ties with the local community and introduce ON Power's operations at Nesjavellir.
