In addition, we process special personal information about customers in ON Power’s charging stations, which provide us with their explicit consent for such processing. This is done so that ON Power can serve its customers well and securely and to get as detailed information about the development of electrification as possible. This processing is addressed in section 2.
Personal information about customers will not be used for any other purpose than specified here, unless with the knowledge and/or consent of the customer.
What personal information does ON Power process about its customers in ON Power's charging stations, and for what purpose?
In order to sell electricity to customers in ON Power's charging stations, ON Power must collect and process the following personal information about all its customers:

Transaction history (usage and cost)

The intention is to use the aforementioned information for research and development purposes, and ON Power will not use it for marketing purposes in any way.
ON Power has set itself the goal of being a leading company in the market regarding energy transition in transportation, and has been at the forefront of infrastructure development for electric cars with the installation of charging stations and the implementation of a business solution. Continuous efforts are being made in product development, improvements, and technological innovations that will benefit customers in this exciting and rapidly growing environment.
ON Power has also set itself the goal of providing customers with good service and being able to provide them with good and reliable information promptly if needed through the website, My Pages, the charging app, or through a 24/7 service desk.
To enable ON to serve its customers well and safely, it is necessary to have the clearest possible picture of the process to switch to electric cars in Iceland. Therefore, customers must consent to additional processing of information by giving informed consent. Consent is given by checking a box on the application form.
Legal basis
As previously stated, the processing of personal information about customers is intended to enable ON Power to fulfill its agreement with the customer regarding the provision of the agreed product with the customer's consent.
In addition, the additional processing of personal information is based on the customer's consent as mentioned in section 2 above. The consent is provided when the customer applies for an ON Charging Key by checking the designated check box. The customer has the option to grant consent for the processing of the requested information, and if they choose not to grant it, it will not affect the customer's ability to purchase electricity from ON Power with the Charging Key. If consent is granted, the customer is free to withdraw it at any time as per section 7.
Recipients of information
Information about ON Power's customers is stored by ON Power, by a party on behalf of the company in Iceland, or with the company's partners within the EEA area, where the rules regarding handling of personal information are the same as in Iceland. Personal information will not be disclosed to third parties unless with a speficic legal basis, by administrative order, court ruling, processing agreement, or with the customer's consent.
For how long is the information stored?
ON Power will store personal information for the duration required by law and as necessary based on the purpose of processing. Since Reykjavík Energy, the parent company of ON Power, is owned by public entities, ON Power is subject to laws regarding public archives and, accordingly, has retention and filing obligations. The company is thus subject to certain restrictions regarding the deletion of data. Data that is authorized to be deleted according to a special permit from the City Archives will be deleted in accordance with the permission granted each time.
Customer rights
The customer has the right to object to ON Power's collection of personal information if they believe that it does not comply with its purpose, is not proportionate, or if they believe that the same purpose can be achieved in a less intrusive manner.
The customer can request information about the processing of their information that takes place at ON Power, provided that the interests of others do not prevent this. Such requests shall be processed as quickly as possible and no later than within a month of receiving the request from the customer.
The customer may have the right to demand that incorrect, misleading, or incomplete personal information regarding them be corrected and/or deleted.
The customer can withdraw their consent
The customer can revoke their consent for the processing of information at any time. For example, they can do this on My Pages by checking the designated box, or by revoking it via telephone or in writing by e-mailing a notice to on@on.is
Right to file a complaint
If a customer wishes to submit a complaint or comment regarding the processing of personal information, it should be directed to on@on.is . ON Power will respond to the inquiry as soon as possible.
Unless otherwise stated herein, the ON Power's handling of personal data shall be governed by the Act on Privacy and Processing of Personal Data, and measures implemented on its basis.
